The Trouble With Not Having a Goal

“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.” ~Bill Copeland

It is very similar to another quote that says that if you don’t know where you are going then any road will take you there. Essentially you will end up someplace randomly. in a game of soccer, the player knows exactly where the goal is located and his/her every effort is to move towards that direction. Sometimes they go crossways as they are trying to avoid obstacles, sometimes they go slightly backward as they pass the ball to a fellow team member. However, the ultimate goal is to always advance the ball to put yourself in a position to score the goal. That is the aim of the game.

You might not like the game of soccer then you may choose another game to play. But the basic idea remains the same. In life, something similar happens. You may choose your game and the goals that you would like to score, however, there is always going to be the desired end result.

It is extremely important to have a set of goals in different aspects of your life- Love, Career, Family/Friends, Financial, Health, and Self-Awareness. It is important to know how you will move forward in each of these areas when the opportunities present themselves. It is important to know how you will spend your resources of time and money to advance in each of these areas.
